Barrow Bridge Post Box

It’s been a bit wet about here recently.  Even our walking Hound has at times refused to put her nose out of the door.

So walks have had to be limited to a quick dash around the parks or up to Barrow Bridge.

In these grey and gloomy days it’s cheering to find a splash of colour.  This is the Victorian postbox on the wall of the old village shop. Closed down many years ago, this was the Workers Co-operative Shop opened in 1835 by workers from the mill across the road. It’s now a nice house in the well preserved conservation area.
