I have recently returned from this years trip to the Dolomites with my walking and climbing mates.
Highlights were completing the Via delle Bochette over four days in the Brenta Dolomites, doing the Via delle Trincee at 4B , one I had on my to do list for a long time, and the Marmolada West Ridge vf. at 4C. As the highest peak in the Dolomites had just been plastered with snow and ice in a storm a couple of days before, we hired a guide to get us up and down safely. Money well spent.
Other climbs done were Col Rosa above Cortina, a strenuous route up the south face of a peak giving great views, and whilst we were there we took in VF Giovanni Barbara, the via ferrata under a waterfall. The promise of the best chips in Italy attracted us to the via ferrata up Averau, which had the Refuge at the bottom serving these delights.
