Five mountain rescue teams mounted a major search for a family lost at night on the Peak District’s highest hill.

Edale Mountain Rescue Team joined colleagues from the Buxton, Kinder and Glossop teams late on Sunday evening after the family of four got lost on Kinder Scout in poor weather as night fell.

At around 3am, the group was found on the northern edge of Kinder Scout by one of the search dog teams.
